Cornerstone Won't Load & can't edit ANY content

My site is www.partnershipforyouth.org

I have searched through the forum and read tips on how to fix this but nothing is working. So far I have cleared caches and I tried deactivating all plugins and have reactivated them so I don’t think it is a plugin issue. I NEED HELP! My client is getting frustrated that I can’t edit a basic typo! UGH.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Since you already did most of the basic troubleshooting like the clearing the cache, memory limit, JS and plugin conflict test, would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look?

To do this, you can create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

Thank you.

Just wanted to make sure you could see the secure message.

Hello Paula,

We are investigating your site as of the moment.

Will give you updates later on.

THANK YOU a million times over for looking into it. It would be AMAZING to surprise my client and have content changes made tonight.
Thank you so much!
Paula

Hello Again,

Do you have any template modifications in your child theme? Could you please give us ftp access so that we can check your files or even re install X theme?

Thank you in advance.

I just updated the secure note.

Hello There,

Thanks for providing the ftp details. I have logged and investigated the issue. It seems weird because I have re installed X and Cornerstone already and it is still not working. I even re installed your child theme. One thing I found out is that when I deactivate the child theme and use the parent X theme, you can edit the page as shown here: http://prntscr.com/h0rcpf

This could be related to your server settings, server cache or something. Do you plan of overriding some of the templates in X? If no modifications is needed so far, I would recommend that you just make use of X theme without the child theme for now so that you can edit the pages. I know you have a client waiting. We can investigate later on when your done editing and if you have to customize X theme that needs a child theme.

Best Regards.

thank you so much. I have not made any modifications to the theme. When I first started using X several years ago I was told to always have a Child Theme so that is what I have used. If a solution is to not use the child theme and I don’t need it then I guess that solution works for me. I would love for you to still do some investigating after I finish editing.

My client has a laundry list of changes I need to make now that I have access. I will let you know as soon as I am finished making changes.

If you’re really sure you’re not going to customize the theme in the future, it’s ok to use the parent theme.

If you want to continue the investigation, it would be best to copy your site to a staging server so your live site won’t be affected when we troubleshoot.

Thanks.

I am going to just work with the xtheme and not use a child theme. Thank you for all of the help. I am hoping moving forward with the X Theme that improvements will be made with reliability. I have been SO happy using this theme for several projects but this update has been a total blow in the confidence of my clients relying on this functioning well!

You’re welcome.
To prevent issues from happening, a staging is the best choice so that you can test drive the updates first before pushing the update to the main site. You will be more confident if you will test the update first.

Best Regards.
