Cornerstone versus wpbakery?

what is the difference between these two design modules cornerstone & WpBakery? I’m confused

Thanks for asking.

They both are page builder tools. Cornerstone is a in house (Themeco) developed Page builder tool. While Visual Composer is a 3rd party that comes bundled with X and Pro Theme.

1. Building experience – with Cornerstone, it’s much faster and more manageable options through inspector. All needed setting and options of the builder is available on one location.

2. Performance – It doesn’t need to parse content every time you plan to edit your content. Thus, much faster loading and processing.

Parsing existing content and shortcodes directly from the editor requires more processing power and connection requests. And we’re trying to avoid that. I remember old issues with older theme that caused internal server error and firewall blocking due to spam connections of the other builder.

3. Support/Update Coverage – Since it’s something we develop, we can easily provide quick patches or fixes along with X theme. The limit and decisions are not imposed by another author, but by us. We can easily respond for bug and temporary fixes if available

Cornerstone section and rows on the other hand Visual Composer has content band and containers become. However, please note that even if you don’t use Cornerstone it’s an essential plugin to run X Theme and has to be in installed and in active state.
