Cornerstone stopped working, cannot edit anything

Hello support,

Using latest X (6.0.4) and Cornestone (3.0.4) shows an error everytime the wp_admin tries to load Cornerstone.
Everything worked well about a month ago.

The browser cannot render the HTML of the admin pages that use Cornerstone. Everything else works well and the site also displays well, I just cannot edit anything with Cornerstone.

This is the error Firefox reports:

Already browsed all the support forum, No new plugins, No custom JS, No cache enabled.

The only “ugly” thing I have to say is that this is a shared host with PHP 5.6 (I cannot change that) but always worked well. This is not a new website.

Thanks for writing in.

I could not be able to find the problem in the front end. Would you mind sharing us your admin credentials so we could check your setup
closer.

Don’t forget to set it in a secure note.

The only details I know with that error is that the error message will be triggered if the field contains broken HTML such as mismatched tags.

Hello There,

This issue could be caused by your server configuration or .htaccess. Would you mind providing us the ftp details so that we can investigate further? Meanwhile, please test for a plugin conflict. TYou can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If the issue still exist, please re install X theme and Cornerstone. There might be some files that were corrupted. You can review our update guide and see the Manual Update section to re install X.

Yes, I disabled all plugins and the error remains the same.
The server configuration or .htaccess I only know I didn’t change anything.

Can you take a look and see what might be wrong?

Hi Paulo,

I have investigated the site again but still no dice, nothing on the error log. Would you mind contacting your hosting support regarding this? as this is more likely a server side related error. And while you’re at it ask if you can upgrade the MySQL version to version 5.6 or greater.

Hi all,

I moved the entire multisite installation to a different server (Debian 9, PHP 7, MariaDB) to do some testing.
But the problem remained the same.

Exactly the same error opening cornerstone.

And no errors on the log, after trying everything, one last resort was to reinstall Wordpress:

• wp-admin/network/update-core.php

And that did the trick! It worked on my new test server and then I did the same on the production server and it worked!

Problem solved!

Probably was some update error during the automatic Wordpress updates.
I’m happy again, thanks for trying to help.
