Cornerstone Still Not launching

I had a previous ticket about this in March '18, where your guys said I need to revert the site content and rebuild the contents in cornerstone. I’ve only just been able to get hold of the client and explain this to them.

I was trying to demonstrate how to use Cornerstone but it still won’t launch. In your previous ticket your colleague mentioned that Cornerstone launched fast, but I can’t get it to work at all.

I’ve taken a clone of the site to localhost and turned off all other plugins and switched to default 2015 theme and it still doesn’t launch Cornerstone. Can you please take a look a see why this is not working please.

I’m running PHP 7 and WP 4.9.5. I think i updated X theme from v4.6.4. and it’s now at child theme 6.0.4

I have tested your issue further. Did you change your site URL recently? I see that when loading Cornerstone, your site URL is changing with two x/x for example example.com/x/x/#/content and the correct path should be /x/#/content or may be you have redirection method which force this.

I have tried regenerating your .htaccess file and also tried setting your site URLs under your wp-config.php file, but it still did not resolve the issue.

Hmmmmmm. Interesting and well spotted. Not sure if it is connected but I’ve also noticed that Jetpack carousel for tiled galleries seems to glitch out in the same way. For an example, click on the images in gallery at http://www.stjosephsfederation.co.uk/4m-assembly/

To access the control panel, visit https://ssl.extendcp.co.uk/login.cgi and use the previously supplied FTP UN & FTP PW.

It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin(JETPACK). Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Hold on. You said you were going to look into this issue further. Do you only investigate issues on sites that only run Xtheme with no plugins? I don’t expect support for Jetpack.

Why didn’t you just tell me about it…

Do you still recommend I reinstall Cornerstone and if o, what is the best way to go about this, as turning off Publicize & Sharing doesn’t rectify, so maybe Cornerstone is corrupt.

I am really really sorry for the confusion over here.

I first tried to open few pages using Cornerstone and sometimes it gives error messages but upon reloading the page it’s working fine. Here is a screenshot. https://cloudup.com/cSMWyAvNFlI

I logged into the hosting panel and in WordPress options table settings looks to be normal, no issues in that. My suggestion would be to first deactivate Jetpack and Wordfence plugin from Plugins > Installed Plugins. After that please deactivate and delete Cornerstone from Plugins > Installed Plugins, your post/pages and contents designed using Cornerstone won’t get deleted. After that please visit X > Validation and doing so will automatically install latest version of Cornerstone.

Next, open the pages in Cornerstone and see if Cornerstone is working fine or not.

Appreciate your refocussing on this issue. I’ve deactivated Jetpack, deactivated and deleted Cornerstone, which then reinstalled on visiting theme Validation page. Now running v3.0.4 Cornerstone with X Theme v6.0.4 on WP 4.9.5.

But Cornerstone does NOT launch still in pages or posts when I select new page or new post and click on the Cornerstone tab of editor. Didn’t try on existing pages/posts as it says it will wipeout the content, which I can’t do at the moment.

FTP unlocked for 7 days again using previous supplied details if you need to take a look.

Today when I’m testing your issue, I was able to load Cornerstone editor without any errors. I have created a test page and I was able to Add/Edit/Delete elements on the page and save (see secure note).

Also I did not see the issue mentioned above as well (/x/x/#/content).

I create new page, then when I hit the Cornerstone tab it ‘thinks about it’ then glitches back to the default editor display.

I also emulated your user (to see if there’s an issue with my profile) using ‘User Switching’ plugin, and got exactly the same negative result. What browser/OS are you using your end?

I didn’t find any issue editing old page or the new page in the cornerstone.
I am using Chrome browser in a Mac.

Yes, that’s how you edit the page in Cornerstone. First you need to create the page from Pages > Add New and either save the page as draft or publish the same and then click on Cornerstone to tab to design the layout in Cornerstone page builder.

That’s it! Why would I save as draft or publish after creating a new page? I wouldn’t so that’s why I wasn’t doing it. Now you’ve told me to, it works fine.
