Cornerstone: Section "Background Layer" option is missing paralax scale slider

Issue: When editing the “Background Layer” options for a “Section” in Cornerstone, if the user turns on the “Parallax” option, the “Upper” option displays an enlarged duplicate of the “Direction” controls.

Expected Result: The “Upper” options should not show the duplicate “Direction” controls, and should have the same controls as the “Lower” options, which shows a “Scale” slider.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to Cornerstone
  2. Create a new page
  3. Click “Add Section” to create a new section
  4. Open the section in “Inspector” by clicking the magnifying glass icon when hovering over the sections name
  5. Scroll down to “Background” in the “Setup” options
  6. Click “Advanced” radio button
  7. Open “Background Layers” options (this only appears after step 6)
  8. Choose "<img/> Element" for both “Lower” and “Upper” options
  9. Turn “Parallax” on for both “Lower” and “Upper” options
  10. Observe that the “Scale” slider is missing for “Upper” options, and is replaced by duplicate “Direction” controls

Windows 10, Firefox 97 / Chrome 98

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, the Scaling option is only available with the Lower Layer not with the Upper Layer.

Thanks

Wierd, why is that? Would be nice to have it with both.

However the duplicate directing buttons still seems like a bug, especially since pressing one set of the buttons will cause the other set to change accordingly.

Hi Matt,

Can you please explain what do you mean by duplicate directing buttons? Please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem.

Thanks

I would like to upload a video to demonstrate the issue, but the forum wont let me, so here is a screen shot

Hello Matt,

I have double checked my local installation using the latest Pro 5.1.5 and I can replicate the issue. This could be a bug or there could be an explanation why the scale slider is not present in the upper layer. I will submit this to our issue tracker so that our developers will be made aware of. I will also ask them to reply on this thread.

Thank you for your understanding.
