Cornerstone Preview Not Working in Plesk Windows

I have been trying from 3-4 days to make Cornerstone work. However it just does not seem to load the Preview Area. It just loads the template portion (Header/Footer) but no Sections and stuff.

Initially I found that sometimes it used to work with Slider Revolution disabled, but it seems something else is also a problem.

I reinstalled older version of Slider Revolution, and even then when it did not work I disabled all plugins and tried. Further I communicated with my hosting company and increased WP_MEMORY_LIMIT, WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT, PHP Max Execution Time to 300 but still not able to trace why it is so difficult working with Cornerstone.

Further many times I get this message and Cornerstone Fails to Load and asks to Try again.

“The preview was unresponsive after loading. This is most often related to a plugin conflict or aggressive page cacheing.” I sometimes get this message and sometimes there is no message but the Preview section just fails to work. I tried in Chrome as well as Firefox.

My Hosting is Windows Shared Hosting with Plesk. Also, here the Base Dir settings have been configured to “None” in my hosting as other wise I was getting some other Warnings and error with X.

Please advise at the earliest.

Further when checking in the Browser, I noticed the browser showing 1 Error and 1 Warning. Please refer the attachment.

Thanks for writing in! X theme & Cornerstone is fully compatible with windows hosting environments as well. Make sure to use a PHP version 5.6.x or later to avoid incompatibility issues.

Also could you please try adding the following code into your wp-config.php file below the following line of code define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );.

define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); 
if ( WP_DEBUG ) {
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
    @ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );
}

This will create a log file under your wp-content directory named as debug.log. Then try to load Cornerstone and it will record any error messages in the error log file. Then check your log file and let us know what has been recorded.

Thank you for your reply. I did the steps as mentioned by you and have replaced the wp-config.php file with the modified one.

I then tried running Cornerstone a couple of times, but there is no debug.log file getting created under wp-content directory.

Thanks for updating in! I have logged in and tested your pages in Cornerstone. I was able to edit the pages. Please check this out:


Which page are you trying to edit? Please be advised that pages assigned as Posts Page and any other pages using the Layout - Portfolio page templates can not be edited using Cornerstone.

Unfortunately here it is not working. I am tying to edit the sample demo Integrity Home page which I had imported and there is another blank page of Contact which I am trying to create.

I deleted all Cookies and Temporary Internet Files and then tried Cornerstone on my blank Contact page and it worked only once. Then I came back to Dashboard and tried editing Front Page in Cornerstone it gave me this https://prnt.sc/j4j7b6

I have replicated the issue and see the same error. I clicked the “Try Again” button and I was able to get pass it and now I can edit the page. Which browser are you using? Please use Chrome and test it again.

Just a tip for you to easily check your page while editing in Cornerstone. You can always use the skeleton mode when editing for faster response and easy access of all the elements in the preview area. This is also helpful especially if one of the sections or elements is not visible or hidden in selected screen size or you may have applied visibility options to a section of element.

Thanks for your reply. I always use Chrome for my work.

I tried it here several times but no luck. Yes the Skeleton mode is the only thing that works.

When Skeleton mode is on the tiny Preview pane also does not display the content. In short Preview pane fails to work for me. I am going to try from a completely different computer and see what happens.

After several efforts and testing I realize that Cornerstone needs moderate resources i.e. good PC performance and essentially good internet speed. After several tries I have observed that it has nothing to do with Slider Revolution.

What Cornerstone basically needs is good internet speeds. When the internet speeds are low on a congested network at those times the plugin does not seem to load fully and thus the Preview faces an error. When there is good internet speed, things are working well as expected.
