Cornerstone - pages are no longer editable + display issues for those that are

Experiencing two issues with Cornerstone that’s causing trouble for my client. I have tested all plugins and reinstalled both X and Cornerstone.

  1. There are display issues while editing pages within Cornerstone. Only the left side of the page is highlighted when the mouse hovers over.
  2. Pages randomly lose ability to be edited through Cornerstone over tim and turn into shortcode text. Page contents are completely erased when Cornerstone is next opened up. Due to this issue, I’ve rebuilt the website entirely once already. Because of issue 1, its more difficult to rebuild the pages through Cornerstone so my client can continue editing copy.

What can I do to resolve these bugs? I have a clean functions.php, no jquery, and very minimal custom css.

Hey @arrowmultimedia,

The credentials you’ve provided doesn’t work. Please update us with the correct credentials.

###For issue 1
Would you mind giving us the URL of the page having this issue?

###For issue 2
It is not possible for a page to randomly turn into a shortcode. There could be someone or some plugin or script that switches the page to another page builder or editor other than Cornerstone.

Thanks.

The credentials will work now.

For issue 1, all pages are experiencing the issue.

For issue 2 there are no other plugins that could be causing the issue. The website has not been edited by anyone other than myself until the client logged in for the first time and reported the bug to me. Could this have been caused by an automatic update or something similar? Here’s an example of a page that Cornerstone simply stopped working on: http://gocleanr.arrowmultimedia.ca/residential/lawn-care/fall-clean-up/

Hi @arrowmultimedia,

  1. I checked your homepage on Cornerstone and it seems fine. Would you mind to clarify and perhaps provide us a screenshot of what you’re referring to as left side of the page is highlighted? It is possible that this issue is only specific to your end. It could be a browser cache or browser extension related.

  2. No, it’s not the updates because if it is this issue would be common, but it’s not. A server-side update or a change in the server configuration, that would be a possibility.

Base on your statement above this issue already happen before? the only thing I can think of is your client is editing the pages outside of Cornerstone (I’m seeing you have a Classic Editor plugin). Or updated the parent-child relation of the pages as that can update permalinks of the page.

Thanks,
