Cornerstone not working, problems running updates

Hello,
I am having trouble running updates on my website. Whenever I update my plugins, my website goes to a blank white screen. It happens with multiple different plugins, so I don’t think the problem lies with a particular plugin, but maybe something with the theme. As you can see if you visit my site, cornerstone is not working at the moment: https://eclectic-tala.org/

I am running:
-Wordpress version 4.9.8
-X theme version 6.2.5 (I realize there is a newer version, but when I update to the newer version my site appears as a blank white screen - so I have reverted to a backup that I made before installing the newer version and am running 6.2.5 while I try to figure this out)
-Cornerstone version 0.7.5
-PHP version 7.0
-Woocommerce version 3.4.5

I am using GoDaddy to host the site and they have run malware tests but found nothing. Do you have any ideas as to what could be the problem or suggestions for what to do next?

Hi Kelsey,

Thank you for the very detailed post. Based on the information that you have given, you have installed the incorrect Cornerstone plugin. To install it properly, please do this:

  • Please go to your plugins section.
  • Deactivate Cornerstone 0.7.5 and delete it completely.
  • Go back to X > Validation, wait for a few seconds and Cornerstone 3.2.5 will be installed automatically.

If ever Cornerstone will not be installed due to file permission in your installation, you can download the plugin in the link provided in the secure note.

By the way, we already have released X 6.3.8 and Cornerstone 3.3.86. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Hello,
Thanks so much for your reply. I deactivated and deleted cornerstone 0.7.5 and went to the X > validation page in the dashboard menu, but didn’t see any option for re-installing Cornerstone. Nothing happened automatically either. Is there something I am supposed to click? I don’t see Cornerstone in there anywhere.

Hello Kelsey,

Please download the Cornerstone plugin and install it manually instead.
