Updated X and cornerstone. Cornerstone no longer functioning.
I have turned off cloud flare. I have disabled all 3rd party plugins to check compatibility, I have increased php memory. Read through all the other posts with this issue and followed advice given.

OK,
after MUCH tinkering it appears that slider revolution, uploaded through X, was the culprit.
That aside, the whole X/Cornerstone interface does seem to be operating at a much slower pace after the update. Any thoughts?

Slider Revolution should work fine with X and CS.
Unfortunely we could not have a closer look because the password does not work.
Please provide working credentials.
