Cornerstone not loading/activating

Hi. I’ve looked at past posts on Cornerstone and checked to make sure I was up to date on both X-Theme and Cornerstone. I tried deactivating all the other plugins except for Cornerstone but still does not work - in fact when I deactivated all the other plugins and tried starting Cornerstone by opening my page - I’m taken to the WP login page each time. I also tried deleting X-Theme and Child X-Theme and trying again but still won’t work. I would appreciate your help. Thank you. Makoto.

Hey Makoto,

Redirect issues usually comes from custom htaccess rules. Please try resetting WordPress htaccess first. If you’re not yet aware how to do that, please read this article: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/how-to-reset-the-htaccess-file-of-your-wordpress-site-using-ftp-8527

If that doesn’t help, please provide the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP details

Hi @beastmedia,

Thanks for the credentials, it’s because something is forcing your site to redirect to HTTPS URL, while your configured is Non-HTTPS URL. The session between secured and non-secured URL aren’t shareable in between them, this causes to log you out, and the builder won’t load.

Please go to Admin > Settings > General and change both URLs’ http:// to https://, then please test it again.

Hello, thanks for your advice. I changed our URL settings in WP to https:// as per your advice. Now the site doesn’t automatically log out but Cornerstone still won’t load. Any other advice? Thank you so much for your help. Best. Makoto

  • Please update your PHP version to at least 5.6
  • Update WordPress core to at least 5.3.2 as well
