Cornerstone Media Breakpoints: How does it work/Does all content load in the background?

Loving the option in Cornerstone to display or not to display content among the 5 different device types. I’d like to know:

a) How does this feature work? Does it work by simply noticing screen width?
b) When content is hidden from a device type does it, nonetheless, load in the background?

Thanks for asking.

1. Yes, breakpoints work by being aware of the screen resolutions.
2. In general most browsers load the resource even if it’s hidden for a particular screen resolution.
