Cornerstone - layout pages

Good morning,

for our site we use WordPress (currently version 5.7.3). Our site is: www.opensymbol.it
We work in two environments: test (https://webtest) and production (https://www). Now we have a problem in the test environment (webtest) and we think derived from Cornerstone.

In both environments we have the X Theme (Themeco) - version 8.3.3.
In the test environment the Cornerstone version has automatically updated to 6.0.8 and in production there is version 5.3.3 (where automatic cornerstone updates have been disabled).

After the automatic Cornerstone update we had some problems in webtest and overnight the layout of the site changed: the text alignment is completely to the left, as you can see:

It is possible to edit the pages, but when I enter in Cornerstone to do it, the alignment is always to the left (there is no margin). This problem is not present in production, where Cornerstone is the version 5.3.3.
Do you think the problem is also caused by Cornerstone? If so, what can we do? How can we fix it?

Had the same issue, and suspect it’s the Cornerstone update. Sorry, I don’t have an answer, but leaving a comment to make so I don’t miss out on an answer. Hopefully, someone can explain how to rectify this.

Thanks for reaching out.
I have tried to check your test site listed in your Themeco Account, but unfortunately, it shows a 403 error. It might be due to the improper update of the Cornerstone plugin.
I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the Cornerstone.

1. Delete the Cornerstone existing one
2. After deletion please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above helps and you are still getting the issue, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Hi,

thank you for your reply. Before performing these actions I make a backup of our site, right?
Should I then go and disable and delete Cornerstone? In which section of WordPress will I be able to retrieve it to install it again?

Also will you install the version 6.0.8? Because I think the problem is precisely the version, since we have no problems with the previous version. But at the same time, the problem - following the updates - may exist in the future. Should I understand if there is a conflict? Or do I need to delete and reinstall Cornerstone?

Hi Federica,

It is always suggested to take a backup of your file and the database in a regular span of time. So, you can restore the backup if anything wrong happens.

I would suggest you update the Cornerstone once by following the steps explained in the above post, and troubleshoot the common issues if that does not work.
If nothing works, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to ask you: what are contraindications and / or effects that the suggested actions could cause stress? Also, where then do I go to arrange Cornerstone? From the Plugins section of WP by typing Cornerstone? Or do I need to download the Plugin from another dashboard? Is there a guide?

Hi Federica,

You do not need to download the COrnerstone separately and can install from link available in the dashboard. It has been already mentioned in my previous comment, I would suggest you go through the following comment.
