Cornerstone keeps using non-SSL in X-Theme

Initially, WordPress was installed without SSL and then later implemented. While we changed everything from http:// to https:// in Settings > General, Cornerstone still tries to load it’s editor using http:// and references all media without SSL as well. I have tried to manually reference the URL of the image using https:// but Cornerstone refuses to accept this.

How can we configure Cornerstone to correctly reference https:// instead of just http://?

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

As per your message, its look like your HTTPS hasn’t redirects the URL properly. You use any HTTPS redirect plugin to fix this error.
Here is few example plugins which does the work.

Before using this plugins please check the documentation properly.

If that doesn’t help please send us your web site details so that we can have a look.
Please provide following information:
Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password

All the best!

THanks

Thank you for the prompt response. Really Simple SSL did the trick for sure. I’m still curious as to why Cornerstone doesn’t use the site_url function to automatically generate the http:// vs https://?

Nonetheless, I’m happy it’s fixed! :grinning: Thanks again!

Hi there,

If you used an http version of your site before and built the pages and added the images while on that setup, the links that are added in the database used the http version. When you switch to an https url, even if you have update it there, there are still some link in the database are still referencing the previous protocol which might have happened in your setup.
