Cornerstone is stalled

Hi, after a recent update to the plugin (done through the Admin Panel), Cornerstone is now stuck with a spinning icon. I have been advised by my IT team that I cannot upgrade PHP until a planned upgrade in September, so I am unable to update Wordpress to the current version until then. In order to continue working on my site, I think I may need to revert to an old version of Cornerstone and/or the X Theme, but can you please help me debug and provide instructions for rolling back to a stable version for my IT team? Thank you!

Installed software versions
PHP 5.4.45
Wordpress 5.1.4
X Theme 7.1.2
Cornerstone 4.1.2

Hello @mtderse,

Thanks for writing in! Based from the information that you sent, the issue lies in your PHP version and WordPress version. You should have at least WordPress 7.3. Please make sure that you have meet the requirements to run the latest WordPress so that the theme and Cornerstone plugin will work properly.

Hi @runel, thanks for your response. Do you mean I need at least Wordpress 5.3?

Also, I cannot upgrade PHP or Wordpress until September 2020 due to other site requirements that I am not in control of. What would be stable versions of Wordpress/PHP/X Theme/Cornerstone to ask my IT team to return to?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @mtderse,

Yes, Wordpress 5.3.2 is the latest version of Wordpress. But because of your PHP version limitation, it’s best that you don’t update your site (WP and X) yet.

Do you have any backup before you update the Theme and Cornerstone to the latest version? If so, please restore the site to that date, as we do not know what version your site was coming from.

But if you are asking for the stable version before the X7. You can install the X 6.5.6 and Cornerstone 3.5.5.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!
