Cornerstone is Shrinking My Images

Hello,

Whenever I add an image using Cornerstone, the image size is shrunk down. For example, I have a 2560x864 jpg in my library that shrinks to 300x151 when I add it as an image or background. Therefore, a lot of quality is lost when it is set to cover a background. If I add it using the standard Wordpress editor, its resolution is retained.

I have a fresh install of Wordpress and X theme with the Auto demo installed. The only plugins I’m using are Cornerstone and Slider Revolution. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

I just figured out that if I insert the image using its url, it comes out full size. Only when I use the “Insert into post” button does it shrink. Is there a setting somewhere that I’m not seeing?

Thanks again!

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for writing in. I think you might have missed the Size in Attachment Display Settings of the image. You will need to set it to Full Size. Here’s a screenshot of it. .

Hope it helps. Have a good day!

Okay, I guess I’m just blind because I used that Copy Link box just above the size selection!

However, I see some options there but not as many as you have. Is there a way to change that? Those image options would be helpful. I see them in the Media Library, but not when using Cornerstone.

Sorry for the silly questions and thank you very much for your help!

Hi Aaron,

It is normal to only see the option you are seeing in Cornerstone by default. If you want to add an alt text to the element, you can place it to the alt option of the image.

Hope this explains it.
