Cornerstone inline images

This new version of cornerstone is horrendous. I am just trying to make my site work and you are making me spend all my time fixing things that were not broke before.

Why can you not see the formatting of the text in classic mode anymore. Everything is so much more complicated now and the learning curve is astronomical and you have no documentation that I can see.

Why can I not put in an inline image in the text box anymore? I cannot find any of the options that we used to have with text.

If you can give me some information or direction I really need some help.

Terrible move with the cornerstone update. You are supposed to add things that work. Not remove the working aspects and replace them with incomprehensible substitutes. I have no time to learn the new stuff since I cannot even do what was possible before.

Will have to consider going to the competition. Really sad. And your support is not up to the challenge of dealing with this.

John

Maybe professional developers and coders will welcome your updates but the main thrust for your product seemed to be helping regular people get a site up and running. I am certainly not stupid but feel like I am as I try to wade through a complicated morass of options that are not being suggested or available but seem to be forced on me when I was content learning a complicated but capable product. So disappointed with the decision making process at themeco.

Hi @johnhansen033

We are sorry you feel like that and be sure we are listening the feedback from the users in order to improve the product.

If you want to wrap an image inside a text you can add the following code to your text box.

<img src="http://example.com/img.png" style="float: left; margin: 0 20px 20px 0;"> Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..Your text goes here..

Hope it helps

Without going into great detail, my question remains, why were all of the options removed with the new version? The following screenshot

clearly shows all of the options that were available, and working fine in the older version. Where are they with the ‘improved’ version? The element shortcode allowed me to choose image and there were 30 options within to setup the image within the original text element. So now I have to figure out how to code 30 options instead of using the image element? Am I missing something here? Are these options available and I just can’t find them? By all means direct me to where they reside. I am not saying there are no interesting additions they have put in. I am asking why are they removing usable functionality from the software when what they really need to do is simply ADD to the functionality that already exists.
I hope that there is an answer I just cannot figure out on my own. This just does not make any sense.
Thanks
John

Hey John,

What you pointed out was the shortcode generator. It was removed because it is no longer supported in the new system so it might cause structural conflicts . It can be enabled in X > Cornerstone but can only be used in the regular WordPress editor

The Add Media button is still available under Rich Text mode in text elements.

The best way to add an image is to use the Image element and not use the shortcode.

Thanks.
