Cornerstone - How Can I Align 2 Rows of Content to 1 Column Of Content

Hi,

I’m a new user of the X theme and I’m trying to use Cornerstone to build a custom page. And I’m running into problems when I do so.

Let me explain…

On my custom page I want to lay out content as shown schematically in the diagram below:

Cornerstone’s basic building block unit is a section and within a section I can put as many rows as I want. So I could put Content Areas 1 and 2 in my schematic into a section and add 2 rows to that section. I could then place Content Area 1 in Row 1 and Content Area 2 into Row 2.

But how do I put Content Area 3 onto the page?

I want that content area to span the same vertical distance as the rows that hold Content Area 1 and Content Area 2 as shown roughly in the schematic and that doesn’t seem possible with the Section and Rows in Cornerstone.

The only way I can think of replicating this layout is if it is possible to stack Sections side by side on a page i.e. Section 1 on the left hand side of the page would hold rows 1 and 2 and Content Areas 1 and 2 would be put in those. Section 2 would be placed on the right hand side of the page and a single row added into it allowing Content Area 3 to be placed in it.

So my questions are these:

  • Is it possible to place 2 sections side by side on a page? - If so, how?

  • Alternatively, is there a simple way to build this sort of layout in Cornerstone i.e. 2 rows of content aligned against a single vertical column of content?

Many thanks for any pointers you can give me!

Hi There

Please try dividing your ROW in 2/3 + 1/3

On the 2/3 column add two block grid elements.

1st with 3 elements per row second with 2 elements per row.

You can add images to the 1/3 column

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!

That was precisely what I was trying to achieve, so many thanks it worked a treat!

Glad to hear it!

Cheers!
