Hey Dexter,

Firstly, we answer threads from oldest to newest and self-responding to your thread will push it to the newest queue and therefore prolonging your wait time. Please be patient and wait for our reply as we’ll surely get to you.

Regarding the error you encountered, we don’t get that in any of our test sites so we could not declare this as a bug so there’s nothing to fix yet on our side.

Please login to your server and completely delete the cornerstone folder in your wp-content/plugins folder and reinstall Cornerstone again.

Also, try downgrading and upgrading your PHP version temporarily to see if PHP version has something to do with the error. Your web host can help you with this.

If none of that helps, please give us the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password
  • cPanel or FTP credentials (if you’re not familiar with this, you can get this from your web host)

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

I’m also getting the error: Fatal error : Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method ReflectionType::getName() in /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php:106 Stack trace: #0 [internal function]: Themeco\Cornerstone\Plugin->Themeco\Cornerstone{closure}(Object(ReflectionParameter)) #1 /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php(117): array_map(Object(Closure), Array) #2 /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php(137): Themeco\Cornerstone\Plugin->create(’\Themeco\Corner…’) #3 /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php(73): Themeco\Cornerstone\Plugin->resolve(’\Themeco\Corner…’) #4 /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php(44): Themeco\Cornerstone\Plugin->setup_services(‘is_admin’) #5 /home/customer/www/atxlifecoach in /home/customer/www/atxlifecoaching.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/Plugin.php on line 106

Hello @Roona,

I would also suggest you please contact your hosting provider to upgrade the PHP version as per our version compatibility page. It is also recommended by WordPress as well. Please have a look at these articles.

After upgrading the PHP version if the issue still persists please let us know.

Thanks

The hosting plan does not support the upgrading of the PHP version.

Hello Dexter,

The hosting provider should allow you to update the PHP version. In most of the hosting companies, there is even a setting in the hosting panel where you can select which PHP version to use. Be advised that outdated technologies lead to vulnerabilities of your site. Who is your hosting provider by the way? See some of the example documentation of BlueHost or GoDaddy in changing the PHP version:

Best Regards.

My hosting company is Godaddy and you cannot update the PHP on my hosting.

Everything was working fine until the last cornerstone update

Hello Dexter,

Have you checked this link already?

Please follow the instructions or ask your hosting to at least update the PHP to 7.4.

Best Regards.

Hi yes, i have seen that. That is C-PANEL linux hosting. Those options do not exist on my hosting package

Hi Dexter,

Regretfully, you need to contact your Hosting Service provider to update the PHP version.

Thanks

Godaddy want me to upgrade my hosting and the pay £70 per site for the migration :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: so I am looking to move hosts.

Hi Dexter,

Just let us know how it goes and if you have any other concerns or clarifications regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread.

Thank you.

Hi @gmientka7,

I just check your website and your PHP version is 7.0.33 which is the cause why there’s an error when activating the cornerstone plugin. I suggest that you ask your hosting provider to change the PHP version of your website to 7.4 and up and also I check our issue tracker and this issue was already solved in our unreleased version.

Please stay tuned and bear with us.

Thank you.

Hi I have moved from the awful Godaddy and now have PHP 7.4 and cornerstone now works a treat. I do have another ticket open though for someone to answer.

Why is it that WordPress plugins are required to determine the PHP version and prevent the update if the PHP version is not compatible… But Themes are not required? I’m currently involved in updating all my SQL queries for PHP upgrade…however, I’m not finished. I spent several hours on the support chat with my Host before it dawned on me to look at the error log in WP-Admin to find my PHP 5.6+ was causing the Pro theme to crash my WP admin access. Fortunately, I restored the prior Pro Theme version and all is well.

Hello @DuckSportsFan,

Thanks for updating this thread. Normally, the later version of the theme works with older PHP. That will also true with older WordPress core versions. With the latest one, it is recommended that you have to update your PHP version to the latest. take some time and check out this WordPress requirements page:

Note: If you are in a legacy environment where you only have older PHP or MySQL versions, WordPress also works with PHP 5.6.20+ and MySQL 5.0+, but these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities .

Best Regards.
