Cornerstone editor not rendering correctly after migrating site

Hello,

I just migrated a one-page (so far) site from my dev server to my client’s live server to continue working on it (using All-in-One WP Migration) and I’ve come across a problem — the page renders fine in the browser, but when I look at it in the Cornerstone Editor, it does weird things like not render correct text colour or button styles, or render columns side by side. I’ve tried reinstalling the theme (X and X-Child) and Cornerstone plugin files, to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi @cgMultimedia,

It could be that some of the URLs on the site were not properly updated to the live domain which is causing the issue.

If you are still having some troubles with the Cornerstone content, please try to make sure all of the URLs are updated.

You can do this by using Better Search and Replace plugin.

Kindly search for:

http://yourolddomain.com and replace it with http://yournewdomain.com
http:\/\/yourolddomain.com and replace it with http:\/\/yournewdomain.com

Please replace the domain names above to your actual dev and live domain.

You can find some more info about the plugin here:

Hi @Jade,

The problem came back — it seems when the Cornerstone Editor page is reloaded, those elements just don’t want to render properly. I tried the Better Search Replace plugin, several times, and though there were a few tables that were updated, that didn’t help. I know that works for fixing missing images (maybe you thought that’s what was missing — it’s not. The image was there, just under the text column instead of next to it.

So basically I’m scrambling to finish this site while avoiding reloading the editor page (facepalm)

Any help you can supply is still welcome.

Thanks,
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Sounds a caching related issue to me, please clear and deactivate for a while all caching features the site might have (plugins, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache). This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Also, Clear Style Cache that is at the bottom of X > Settings or PRO > Settings

If clearing cache does not work, please provide us login credentials in a secure note so we can take a closer look.

Cheers!
