Cornerstone editor not loading footer

Hi,

We have several sites using Pro + Cornerstone and we experience a similar issue from time to time on most of them.

After we’ve imported a footer template from another site, it will work initially but then when we go back to it, the visual aspect of the editor won’t load. The right hand side editor (wireframe) will load so we can still edit the site, but the visual editor has the ‘loading’ animation in perpetuity.

We’ve force refreshed, logged out and logged in again, cleared the cache (it’s on WPEngine), but nothing works.

We can work around it, but it’s annoying when we grant clients CMS access and they can’t see the editor.

Can you think what might be happening and how to fix it?

thanks

Tim

Hello @timgroves,

Thank you for the inquiry.

We tried logging in but the password for the username is incorrect. Please check the info carefully. Also, please make sure that the theme is updated to the latest version. We’ll check the site again once the new password is available.

Best regards,
Themeco

Sorry about that - I’m not sure why it didn’t work. I’ll send a new one

I have the same problem on some sites, don’t know why that happens…

Hi @timgroves,

I have thoroughly tested and found that the Instagram and TikTok URLs are the reason behind your problem. I tried to add the same URL in other elements and found the same problem. I shortened the URLs using a URL shortener and added a test footer for Instagram and TikTok, and it started working. You can check and replicate the same in your footer.

I will check with our development team on this and if this is a bug of the latest release, I will report it in our issue tracker.

Thanks

Oh wow, amazing - what an odd thing, but thanks for getting to the bottom of it. We’ll just avoid using those URLs for the time being

Tim
