I have been using elementor for some editing and now get the following error and can’t see my page layout…
‘Uh oh! A suitable content area for the live preview couldn’t be identified. Switching to Skeleton Mode.’
Can you help please?

Hi @macrolicious,
Thanks for writing in.
To remove temporary cache, please try to install and run Transient Cleaner (https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/).
Also you can disable/delete Cornerstone plugin and then re-install if needed. All your data will be saved in the database so it is safer to do that.
Thanks!
Thanks for your response. I did all you asked. Pro began to work but was not showing any content - just a blank template. I then re-enabled Elementor to check and that can see the content as usual. However, Pro is back to it’s original error state…
So some progress but no fix - I can now edit the content with Elementor but not Pro…
Thanks
macrolicious
Hi there,
Unfortunately, Pro or X do not support Elementor Page Builder and there might be conflicts between the theme and Elementor assets. This goes to third party plugin conflict category which is out of our support scope, but we will inform our development team regarding this to have a look at the case of their installation.
But there is no guarantee for a fix as we do not support that plugin. Instead, you’d better use the Pro Builder or in edge cases go to Pro > Extensions and install the Visual Composer which again is not recommended.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi Christopher
OK thanks for your knowledgable response.
This may also be out of your support scope but I wonder if you are able to help. I have an almost complete one page website in Elementor which, as you know, I can’t access through Pro. Also if I deactivate Elementor, Pro can’t see the content. However, I built the header and footer for it using Pro and they are combined with the elementor content to complete the pages. I’m only a wannabe developer so not technically savvy yet - is there a way to access the content through Pro if I deactivate Elementor?
I hope this makes some kind of sense…?
Cheers
Al
Hi There,
If you build your content with a page builder (in this case element) you cannot edit with another page builder (pro)
In my opinion, you better rebuild the page and stick to Pro builder.
I would recommend you taking print screens (or use chrome addon Full-Screen page Capture) to save how your pages look.
Your design is done, it is much faster than you imagine to rebuild it since you already have the design ready, and during your path, you will get familiar with Pro page builder.
Hope it helps
