Cornerstone Editor doesn't load

Hello Themeco Team,

since a few days Cornerstone unfortunatelly doesn’t work anymore on my site (mowliebig.com).
If I open a page with cornerstone to edit it, everything loads correctly except of the cornerstone Editor on the left side. It remains blank, no matter if I select Layout, Elements or Inspector.

I already deleted Cornerstone from the FTP Server and reinstalled it + cleared the browser cache, but the error remains.
The developer tool of chrome throws out the following errors:

Looking forward to get some help, so I can edit my site again.
Thank you in advance.

Best wishes

Hello Mow,

Thanks for writing in! I have checked your site and there are several JS errors on the page. One of the errors is this:

Error: element #baba was not readable in DOM. TypeError: Cannot read property 'innerHTML' of null
    at readJSONFromDOM (gtag.8d01e21f.js:19)

This could be caused by a 3rd party plugin. You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If nothing is helping, provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-get-support/288

Best Regards.

Thank you for the fast answer.
I deactivated all Plugins, but the problem remains.

You can find the access to my site in the secure note.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best wishes

Hi Mow,

Please double check wordpress password. It is incorrect.

I checked,it is because there were stars signs (*) that somehow don’t appear in the secure note.
I changed the password and it should work now.

Hi @Jikelop,

I can see the issue is still there even without any plugins. The Jquery error is still there on the console. Since you have already reinstall Cornerstone, this time please try reinstalling X theme and Wordpress core. There might be corrupted files that was causing the issue. Let us know how this goes.

I reinstalled the wordpress core and deleted x-theme, x child-theme and cornerstone from the FTP Server to reinstall it again. Unfortunately the error still remains.

Kind of strange, cause the error just appeared without me making any changes except of updating plugins.

Do you have any other idea, what might be the issue?

Best wishes

Hi Mow,

You can edit your page in Cornerstone now.

Did you attempt to switch the theme to PRO at some point? Because when I investigate the problematic page, I see that your default Content Layout Element is set to layout-grid, which is invalid because the layout Grid feature is only available to PRO, not on X/Cornerstone.

When I switch that back to Row, the Cornerstone starts working again.

Cheers!
