Cornerstone conflicting with plugin Food Online Premium for WooCommerce

Hello,
i really need your help. I’ve been struggling for 4 days now along with the support team from the plugin mentioned. There is a conflict with their modal and cornerstone. I know that because when i deactivate cornerstone (along with x-theme because it wont work properly without cornerstone), the popup works fine.
We’ve been digging and can’t find the issue. No error. I’m on a very tight deadline (was supposed to put the website up yesterday) but can’t move forward because of this issue. Food online premium asked me kindly to see if you could check it out and maybe give us a heads up on what is conflicting? I have setup a dummy website for you to understand the issue : jomourad.com

When you click on one of the + signs, it’s supposed to open a modal. Nothing happens, except that the class “aromodal-open” is added to the body.

Both plugins are up to date as well as x-theme. Tried to desactivate every other plugin. The only thing that works is when cornerstone is deactivated, and i need it because the whole website is built with it.

i have created accesses for the backend if needed.

Waiting impatiently for your response!

Thank you very much.

Hello @idylliq,

Thanks for writing to us.

Regretfully, the issue is coming from the third-party plugin for which we don’t have any compatibility with the theme. Still, we will be interested to investigate and see if anything can be improved in Cornerstone, but please remember that as this is a 3rd party plugin we can’t guarantee any fixes.

To investigate it further please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

  • WordPress Login URL
  • WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks for understanding

Thank you very much for looking into this.I added a secure note.
In my opinion it’s really a js conflict somehow as nothing happens when clicked. As if there were duplicates somewhere.

Please keep me posted, waiting patiently!

Hi @idylliq,

I just check your website and it is not validated. Regretfully, we can’t dig into the problems once the website is not listed in your themeco dashboard.

Thank you for understanding.

Well… i know it’s not validated… it’s the staging site. The live site is validated… i can go ahead and switch it to that one if you’d like temporarly…

I Have updated jomourad.com with the license.

Hey @idylliq,

I have investigated your site and I can confirm that the issue exists. There is a conflict between the Food plugin and the Cornerstone plugin. I’ve already created a bug report regarding this issue to inform our developers for further investigation. Please bear with us.

Thanks.

Thank you very much for your support! I don’t know if this changes anything, but i am so late for the deadline of the site… if you could expedite the issue (even a quick fix in the meantime) it would be AWESOME.

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

We’re working on getting the next big release out so regretfully we won’t be able to investigate the root cause imminently (considering your deadlines). I don’t know if this is the case but it comes to mind. Most of the time issues like this are related to plugins not detecting when to output their scripts and styles.

In the next version we made some changes to make Cornerstone more generically compatible with how plugins detect when to load assets. Could you try updating your staging site to the release candidate? You can download it in your dashboard. Keep in mind it has a few bugs in the new features we’re trying to work out before an official release, but at least you’d be able to confirm if the next version solves your problem.

If it still doesn’t work, the next best course of action would be reporting to the plugin developers that there’s a conflict. If they need anything they can reach out to us and we’d be happy to help work towards compatibility.

Hey @alexander,
Thank you for your time and support. i actually put the BETA version on my test site, and it does the same behaviour. However, this time i can deactivate cornerstone without the website breaking (in the other theme / cornerstone it would just not load when deactivating cornerstone). So its definitely the cornerstone / plugin conflict. I will continue to talk with the plugin support team as they are still trying to figure this out and asked me to reach out to you guys. Please keep me posted if you find anything relevant.

Hi @idylliq,

We will let you know if any updates comes on this.

Thanks
