Cornerstone Conflict with iThemes

There seems to be a plugin conflict iThemes Security and Cornerstone.

When I try and load the backend of Cornerstone I get the following message:

“A conflict on the front end of your site has prevented the preview from loading.”

Would be helpful if you investigate as I"m probably not as informed as you.

Hi there @dfinch,

Thanks for writing in!

I’ve taken a look at your configuration for iThemes and there isn’t anything that should technically block Cornerstone from working, however I’d imagine that it’s blocking Cornerstone based on .htaccess rules that it adds for some of the other modules.

Could you copy and paste your entire .htaccess in a secure note please?

Thanks!

HI @Jack, I have added the code into the secure note.

Hi there,

Could you try removing the entries in the secure note? (please make sure to back it up)

It’s like redirecting all requests/URL in admin back to index.php

Thanks!

Removing that causes the following error “Not Found The requested URL /x/ was not found on this server.” when clicking on Cornerstone.

Hi there @dfinch,

Could you try re-saving your permalinks now under your wp-admin > settings > permalinks and everything should work correctly, any issues let us know.

Thanks!

Nope. Still getting the same error as I reported above.

I have replaced the code in the htaccess file for the mean time.

Hi there,

I checked and there are two issues which I think just related

  1. No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin
  2. Mixed content due to HTTP/HTTPS

Maybe fixing the HTTPS issue will fix both. Your site is non-HTTPS but it’s trying to load HTTPS resources triggering the error. I checked around but couldn’t find where you set your static URL. Maybe it’s in your site’s wp-config.php, would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well?

Thanks!

I’m not 100% what to do to be honest. I have contacted my hosting provider to sort the HTTPS issue though.

FTP details are in the secure note.

Hi,

I checked your files but didn’t find anything.

Let’s wait for your hosting provided and see what they have found out.

Thanks

I have spoken to my hosting provider, TSO Hosting and they have said the following:

The issue in my opinion is with the conflict between plugin and the theme and what I will advise you is to address it to the web developer.

An unhelpful response but that’s what they said on live chat.

Quick update.
I’ve just done a Search and Replace on the database for http://metcast.co.uk and https://metcast.co.uk and it’s working like a dream. Thanks for putting up with me

Glad to hear it.

Cheers1
