Cornerstone Classic Elements W3 Validator Errors

Hello,

I have the latest version of WP, X, Cornerstone, and W3TC. I also have WP multisite active. My primary website is https://www.bellafsm.com

  1. I have been using X Theme and Cornerstone since it was first launched several years ago. I recently noticed every page of my website has many validation errors referencing duplicate empty ID:

Some pages have over 100 duplicate empty ID errors. I think is is related to classic elements. I tried replacing classic elements with new elements on two of the pages and it eliminated the error.

Is there a way to fix this issue globally instead of manually “recreating” every page? (150 pages). Is classic elements the issue or something else?

  1. A second issue I am experiencing is slow page speeds. When I view the page source I see a tremendous amount of css above . Below is an image of a small part of the code. There are pages and pages of it. Is this correct or do I have something set up wrong?

Please advise.

Best regards,

John

Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the problem with ID globally. And the Page Speed mostly depends on the content used at your site and beyond the scope of our theme support. I would suggest you hire a developer who can assist you on this or you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where we answer the questions beyond normal theme support.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response. Are you able to look at the page source and all of the styling css included in the top of the page? Is this normal for a “standard” website? It looks like every single style class for X and Cornerstone is being dumped to the screen.

Best regards

Hello @jnlinn,

The what seems to be a CSS dump that you pointed out is not normal for a standard website. This is happening because of your 3rd party plugin that minimizes your site which means that those things that you are seeing upon viewing the page source is part of the optimization for your site. you can temporarily deactivate your 3rd party plugin and view the page source again so that you can compare.

Perhaps, you might want to check out this documentation for more information about how you can optimize your site:

Best Regards.
