what I want to do is create a site that pulls data from Filemaker and creates a timeline graph based on the data.

is there an API to import the data from external sources ?

can you do a timeline graph?
Do you have a demo that I can play around with to see if it will work?

Unfortunately, there is no such API to get the data from external sources. There is no demo right now which can be used for experiments.
