Cornerstone changes will not save

Cornerstone will not save my changes. I have followed all advice here, to no avail. I have 512M php memory. Please help.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for writing in! I have created a new test section on your referenced page, added a text element, edited content and then I was able to save the changes as well (see secure note below).

Most probably you may have experienced a browser cache related issue. Could you please try clearing your browser cache and try editing your page again (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/).

If not, you can also try editing your page on Incognito mode and see if you can work on your page (https://www.lifewire.com/incognito-mode-google-chrome-4103635).

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Clearing cache and incognito have made a slight improvement. It is still taking multiple attempts to save. Saving usually fails, and when it is successful, I still have to refresh the page to see the changes. Any other ideas would be great. (I also see total failure in Edge browser).

Hi There,

I would like to check your website but I got this error message when visited the login URL:

Could you please double check again?

Thank you.

Not sure but I was logging in and out myself. Please try again.

Incidentally, I see the same problem (not saving in cornerstone) on my laptop and PC.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for reaching out.

Looks like the builder’s preview is being redirected. You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

I couldn’t just deactivate them since it’s a live site, my guess is also related to the membership plugin.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your reply. Disabling the membership plug in does seem to allow saving, but it is so slow as to be unusable.

Hey @marknugent,

I tried editing and saving the page you’ve previously posted and it saves just fine and fast.

It’s possible that you’re editing your site during high traffic times or you’re reaching your host’s resource usage cap. Please contact your host if you resources have been limited during the times you were editing.

It’s also possible that your server’s resources are not enough to power all the plugins in your site. Note that, it’s not only Cornerstone that takes up resources, other plugins do that as well.

Thanks.
