Cornerstone-access spinning after default wordpress installation (4.9.4)

Hi there,

I have problems with the access of cornerstone after a default wordpress installation. I haven’t installed any plugins before - only “X”.
Also after deactivating/ deleting cornerstone, the newly installed one doesn’t work. Every time it’s loading/ spinning.

  • wordpress-4.9.4
  • themeforest-5871901

What can i do? I found no general solution for this problem.

Thanks in advance,
Matthias

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, please try increasing your PHP memory limit by following the guidelines provided here.

Also, navigate to Settings > Permalinks and just save it without changes.

If the issue persists, please re-install your WordPress, you can follow the Manual Update guide provided here.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Hi again,

In the meantime i increased the PHP memory limit in the wp-config.php like described to 512 MB.

Output from the Server IP & Memory Usage Display:
“… | Arbeitsspeicher: 24 von 512 MB (5%) | WP-LIMIT: 512 MB | IP xxxxxxxxxx (rex20) | PHP 5.6.33-0+deb8u1 @64BitOS

Also i navigated to Settings > Permalinks and just save without changes.

Unfortunately the problem still existed.

After that, i installed the new ENGLISH version of wordpress again from http://wordpress.org/download/

  • wordpress-4.9.4.zip => 9.115 KB
    Before:
  • wordpress-4.9.4-de_DE.zip => 9.640 KB

After installing THEME “X” the cornerstone wheel is spinning again ;-(

Do you have more ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Matthias

Hi There,

Thanks for the update!

The issue can be caused by the following:

Incorrect setup of SSL. If you have an SSL certificate on your site. You should have the WordPress Site URL and Address URL settings set to HTTPS if you are loading the builder via HTTPS. This can be checked via your wp-admin > general > settings. If you aren’t using SSL you can ignore this step.

Caching. If you have a caching plugin activated or any form of server side caching please disable it to test for any possible conflicts. If you have server side caching or aren’t sure if you do, your host should be able to advise of this and disable it for testing purposes on your account.

Cloudflare. If you are using Cloudflare please disable this for testing purposes. Cloudflare by default enables an auto minfication function to compress the JS and CSS files of the theme. As the theme already serves minified files, re-minifying said files only causes to break the entire site.

Custom code syntax error. If you have a child theme, please enable the child theme and check if the issue still exists. If you have entered any custom JS or CSS into their respective editors. Please review the code for any syntax errors. A mis-placed semi-colon or a missing bracket will cause the issue you’re seeing.

If you could please try the above and if you still have the issue we’d be more than happy to assist.
Thanks!

Hi @basanta,

Thank you for your answer.

(1) Incorrect setup of SSL.
I don’t use SSL.
(2) Caching.
I don’t have any caching plugins.
(3) Cloudflare.
I don’t use Cloudflare.
(4) Custom code syntax error.
I don’t have any child theme or custom JS or CSS.

I only installed a new MySQL DB, a new Wordpress Installation (4.9.4) and afterwards the new version of X (themeforest-5871901).
Nothing else was modificated.

Thanks in advance,
Matthias
