Corerstone Fatal Error- WP Recovery Mode

Hello,

ww.manhattanmusic.com.au
I’m trying to make a few changes to my site and update all plugins and WP etc and am continually getting a fatal error that puts wordpress into recovery mode

I’ve reinstalled WP, re installed X Theme and Reinstalled cornerstone.

Can you please advise what the error message shown is and how I can fix it?

I’ve also tried resetting permalinks, and trying with all plugins disabled. I cannot access any plugins, and it says there is an issue with X theme and Cornerstone.

This is causing major inconveniece as we are actively trying to work on SEO for this site, I will add WP and CPANEL access to a secure note.

Here is the email notification I receive from WP. Even after restoring backups from December, as soon as I login it get the fatal error notification.

Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, X.

First, visit your website (https://www.manhattanmusic.com.au/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.manhattanmusic.com.au/wp-admin/plugins.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.3.2
Current theme: X (version 7.1.2)
Current plugin: (version )
PHP version 7.1.33

Happy to switch to Pro if needed and I have licences available. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hey Nathan,

It looks like your site is down. Or, do you have IP restrictions. I’m using a VPN but it still won’t load.

cPanel access works and I’ve deleted Cornerstone in your plugins folder in hopes that it’s the one breaking your site but still, your site won’t load on my end. Please check.

Thanks.

Hey Christian,

Thanks for the response. The site is showing for me, but there are still errors on the backend and the front end is now a little broken.

Can you please take another look?

Cheers

Nathan

Hey Nathan,

I’m sorry but your site is down on our end. Please check with your host if they enabled IP restrictions. Please ask them to disable it. I even used VPN connected to US though but the site is still down so you might want to ask your host why it’s down.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

The error message shown is a DNS error, from what I can see the DNS is propagating correctly globally. The site is up for me on my home internet connect, my phone and at work so it is definitely ‘up’.

I’ve spoken to the web hosting company, and they cannot see anything wrong. I’m based in Australia, but when I use Nord VPN to connect to the USA it works fine for me also.

Just to confirm it is www.manhattanmusic.com.au right?

Updating X-Theme has broken the site and a fatal error message sent to me by wordpress references the cornerstone plugin. If i reenter WP in recovery mode, I can uninstall everything and start from scratch but then this error fires again referencing cornerstone.

Are you in the US? If not let me know what country and I will go back to the host and ask if thats ok?

Hello Nathan,

We have several staff residing in different countries working 24/7.

By the way, I was able to log in and checked your settings. It seems that you are using an older PHP version. Please to Tools > Site Health. Make sure that you have meet the requirements to run the latest WordPress. In most cases, the theme will return some error if your server settings does not meet the minimum. You can check it here:

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
