Hi, I installed ConvertPlus (as recommended here to create popup modals) and it basically killed my website. It seemed to work fine for a while but all of a sudden it disabled the previews on my website pages (buttons stopped working…when hovering over a link animations were disabled etc.). I also added popup modals on some CTAs (that included contact forms) all worked fine but they then just stopped working? I’ve been looking into this for days to figure it out…I then got the developers at my sites host server (dedicated Wordpress server) to have a look at my website and they traced the issue back to ConvertPlus. It’s now been disabled and my website is working perfectly again. What other options are available to create/add popup modals to a WordPress website that can include contact forms etc.? And ones that work well with Cornerstone? Thanks
Hello @dgh789,
Thanks for asking.
Were you using the supported version of ConvertPlus? As it’s quite surprising the hear same causing conflict. As of today the supported version of ConvertPlus is 3.3.1. Maybe you can copy the website to a staging server and then activate ConvertPlus. In case issue is there, we can take a look and offer some solutions.
You can also take a look at following Google Search result for some pop models extensions. Please click here
Thanks.
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I was using the supported version of ConvertPlus (3.3.1) - I only recently downloaded it. I’ve just gone back into my WP dashboard and activated ConvertPlus again; and it again stopped my website from working fully; if I then deactivate it, my website works perfectly. Really odd as it was worked fine when I first downloaded it??? If you can have a look at it that would be great. I’ll add a username and password to a secure note
And one other thing ConvertPlus does when it’s activated, it stops the cornerstone page previews from loading? When I go to edit a page I just get the bouncing ‘Pro’ logo then a message saying the builder can’t load the preview and there may be a conflict somewhere…possibly with a plugin…turned out to be ConvertPlus. Be great to understand why this happens as ConvertPlus seemed pretty good (when it was working ). Thanks.
Hey David,
Looks like you have us subscriber level access. I could not activate ConvertPlus and see what happens. Please also give us FTP access so we could check the logs and see if it could lead us to the root cause of the problem.
ConvertPlus works fine in our test site so this could only be unique with your server and/or WordPress setup.
Thanks.
Hi Christian, apologies…I just updated the temp admin access (as above in secure note) to ‘Administrator’. See ‘below’ secure note for FTP access details…thanks for your help.
Hi There,
Upon checking your modal popup, I could see that you’ve add the Jotform embed code to the modal. It’s causing the Javascript error:
Could you please remove the embed code and check again?
Let us know how it goes!
Hi again, Okay. So I did as you suggested above. I removed the source code. In fact I’ve deleted all previous modals and created a basic new one. All seems to be working now. see page: www.paynetworx.co.uk/compare-card-terminals - about half way down you’ll find the CTA that says ‘Click here to get a Card Terminal quote now’. The popup modal works. My next question…how do I add a Jotform form into the modal? Below is the code JotForms spits out in order to ‘Use this code to have your form appear in a lightbox’:
<script src ="https://form.jotformeu.com/static/feedback2.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script type="text/javascript"> var JFL_82102762040342 = new JotformFeedback({ formId: '82102762040342', base: 'https://form.jotformeu.com/', windowTitle: 'Contact Me', background: '#0095c6', fontColor: '#FFFFFF', type: '2', height: 500, width: 600, openOnLoad: false }); </script> <a class="btn lightbox-82102762040342" style="margin-top: 16px"> Contact Me </a>
Thanks. D.
Hey Alaa, awesome…thanks for looking into that for me. REALLY really appreciated. Just one more quick question so I don’t break anything again…where does this code go? Into ConvertPlus, a Content Area Modal element, etc.? I’ve broken so many things trying to get this to work I’d rather have someone hold my hand so I don’t kill my website again. Sorry to be a pain. Thanks, D.
Hey David,
It depends. If you want ConvertPlus to control the display, you need to add it in ConvertPlus. If you want to display it using a button, you can use the Content Area modal. Since it’s an iframe, it should display fine provided there’s nothing in the code that will cause an issue. If there is, whether you put it in ConvertPlus or Content Area Modal, it will really break. In which case, you would need to contact JotForm support.
Thanks.
