ConvertPlus Add ons not working

Hi, Great product. I have just started to use teh bundled ConvertPlus and its super. Very powerful. So just a quick couple of questions guys;
1- I want to integrate with mailchimp but fall at the first hurdle, when trying to download the MAil CHinp add on it says “Download Failed; Forbidden” ?
2- I woul dlink to add a webpage with the sign up form embedded in it. Can I do this. Ie I want my Wordpress primary menu to have an item that i click and it takes the user straight to the sign up modal or a webpage on my site with the modal right there. Is this possible?
I contacted the team at ConvertPlus and they directed mwe back to you: here is the reply
"Hello Gareth,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Since you said you got the plugin bundled with the X Demo theme, could you please contact your theme author so that they can help you with this?

Just to give you a better understanding, generally, the theme author buys an Extended license of the plugin which allows them to bundle it with their theme. Usually, theme authors alter plugins a little before bundling it with their theme.

Therefore, for accurate help and answers, it is advised to contact them. However, the theme and our plugin are totally independent products from independent developers."

Thanks

Hi Gareth,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked both the points, there might be some different reasons behind your first issue. I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it.
5.CSS/JS Customization
6.Disabling Cache
7.Disabling CDN
8.Increasing PHP Memory Limit

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If the issue was caused by our theme, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

On your 2nd point, we are not clear what exactly you want to acheive. Can you please elaborate a little more on this?

Thanks

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Great !
OK, so I have created a secure note with my info in there.

I worked my way through the trouble shooting 8 points but dont think they have made a difference (I didn’t update to the very latest Theme X update as I don’t want to learn the newest interface just yet.

I don’t use a child theme and I have no significant CSS customisation

With regards to my second point I would like to add a menu item on my primary menu. This menu item would link straight to the ConvertPlus Form. So for example I have 4 menu items at the minute. Home, Overview, Contact and News. I would like to add another called “Sign up to our Newsletter”. When the user selects this it would take him or her to the ConvertPlus sign up form either embedded in my webpage or that it just pops up? IS this possible?

I am having the same issue. I get " Download failed. Forbidden" when trying to add the ConvertKit extension to the ConvertPlus that I’ve activated. Please advise.

Hi Gareth,

I have checked the Mailchimp and all other addons and it shows the Download failed. Forbidden errors. There might be some issue with the Folder Permission for which the Add-on folders or files can’t be created at your server. I would suggest you contact your Hosting Service provider on this.
If that does not resolve the issue, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password
– FTP/CPanel credential to access the files and folder

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

The Convertplus is mostly used to create the Modal, Infobar, and Slide-In forms, what you are expecting is not possible with it. I would suggest you create a section and add the form through the WP Form or Contact Form 7 or any other form builder plugins and link the section to the menu using the section ID and # link.
I would also suggest you check the Convertplus plugin documentation: https://theme.co/docs/convertplus

Thanks

HI, Thanks for your reply.
On the first point: I have created a staging site and the details are in the secure note attached.

On the second point, thankyou for your advice I will do an anchor tag and use that. Very useful, thanks

Hi guys,

I can also confirm the issue on my development website, I will submit a feature request to the development team to fix the issue. In the meantime, you can manually installed the addons by downloading the files in the link below and upload it to your website.

Hope that helps.
