Convert Plus registers users for my Wordpress

Hi there,

I came across a strange bug: After the latest update of Convert Plus every user who signs up - for example with my exit intent popup - is subscribed to my WordPress AND added to my email list.

But I don’t want them to be signed up for my WordPress and this setting is not active: https://www.adsventure.de/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/convert.png

Any ideas how to fix that?
thanks!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that the subscription lists is the only way they receive newsletter updates of your sites. They need to be registered as a user to be able to receive the updates. This is why you need to set a default Role for the newly registered user.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

yes - I am totaly aware of that. But what happens is that every time someone fills out the ConvertPlug form, they are

a) added to my ActiveCampaign Newsletter list (which is fine)
B) a new WordPress User is created (which I dont want and didn’t happen before the last update).

Please have a look here:

I don’t want convertplus to create Wordpress User-Logins and that didn’t happen before the last update. How can I fix that?

Hi flittrst,

It’s not clear for me that any option in Convert Plus might be changed to cause this effect, I’ll need to gather more information about your current campaign, so please provide us with WordPress Dashboard login details in a “Secure Note” so we can investigate this issue.

Thanks.

Hi Alaa,

I don’t get this, too. But it happend right after the last update.

Here are my login details:

thanks

Hi there,

What page and subscription form is causing this? I tried one and it doesn’t create any user, your users are still 7.

Maybe a video recording will be helpful.

Thanks!

I am having the same problem after the last update.

People have been signing up as a subscriber instead of me just collecting emails. I’m using contact form 7 as well.

So any fix for this yet?

Thanks

Hey @flittrst,

I tested your popup and it does not register a user (see Secure Note of the screencast I’ve recorded). Not sure if clearing the browser cache would help but please try.

@devytan,

The issue in this thread is with ConvertPlus. Please forward your issue to Contact Form 7 support as we do not have support for third party plugins.

Thanks.

Hi thanks for catching up on this topic. It seems to be fixed after I’ve deactivated and activated the plugin again. Sorry for the confusion & thanks a lot!

Hi @flittrst
Thanks for the update, you are welcome
