Convert Plus and Mailchimp Addon

Just making sure I understand this. If you use the Convert Plus plugin that comes with X, you get updates. But if you use one of the add-ons that appear to come with Convert Plus, you now have to pay for Convert Plus in order to get updates on your add-on?

Am I correct?

If that is true, I wish they would tell you up front when you start using one of the add-ons that that is the deal. It seems a little deceptive to me.

Please clarify. Thanks.

Hello @creatorofstuff,

Thanks for posting in!

When you install ConvertPlus, you can install the Addon if the addon is available for the basic plugin. Premium Addons like what you are trying to install are exclusively available when you buy a separate license of the plugin. This isn’t deception. That is how the creators of the plugin intended the integration of these addons. It is also generally acceptable because it would be unfair to them if bundled plugins using developer license has the same privileges with the single user license.

Hope this explains it briefly.

I totally respect that. But I wish they had not allowed me to use the add on at all without telling me it was a “premium” add-on. I’ve been using it for quite some time and now all of a sudden it’s “premium”. That was really my beef. If I’d known up front I would have gone another direction. That’s all.

But thanks for clarifying.

Hi,

I will forward your concern to management, maybe we can add some text somewhere to make customers be aware of this.

Thank you.

Perfect!

You are most welcome.
