Hi there,
On my site https://oneworldtrekking.com/trekking-destinations/nepals-classic-trips-and-epic-journeys/, we use the Convert Plus plugin to get emails and offer visitors a download pdf. This has been working fine the past two years. Recently it stopped working and gives a generic error “There was an error and the administrator has been notified.” When logged in, the error shows as a 403 forbidden. I spent an hour on the phone with WPEngine and there are no errors being logged, and there is even a 200 that comes through showing successful logging of the request. The file is available and not blocked in any way as viewed here: https://oneworldtrekking.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/One-World-Trekking-Guide-to-Nepals-Great-Trekking-Regions.pdf. This is also the link used to redirect users from the form to the download. I have searched and not found any support threads on this topic. I am wondering if there is an issue with the plugin, as it hasn’t been updated in a while because it is bundled. Can you please help me troubleshoot this error? Thank you!
Hi Marcus,
Thank you for writing in, can you clarify how we can see the said error? I did fill the form modal that shows up when I first visit the site, and navigate around the site but did not encounter the said error.
In the meantime, please do a Testing for Plugin Conflict, and if that did not work try switching to parent Pro theme.
Cheers,
Hi Friech,
When you are on the page https://oneworldtrekking.com/trekking-destinations/nepals-classic-trips-and-epic-journeys/, sit there for 5-8 seconds and the pop-up will show. After you submit the email address is when the error shows up. I also reached out to Convert Plug a week ago but haven’t had any response. Thanks for the help! I have tested for plugin conflicts, and didn’t resolve the problem.
I have actually disabled on most pages, but have the popup enabled on this page to test and fix. https://oneworldtrekking.com/trekking-destinations/trekking-trips-in-nepal-download-test/
Thank you!
Hi Marcus,
Thank you for the clarification but still, I can’t see 403-forbidden-error.
I got this error though when submitting an email.
Do you have any custom scripts somewhere? Can you try removing those for a while and see if that resolves the issue. Also, try switching to your parent PRO theme, there might be a conflict on your child theme.
Let us know how it goes,
Cheers.
