Content Storage - Post Conversion Issues

Hi there

We use Theme X and Woocommerce.

Our site is using the short code content storage. We wanted to change it the html storage.

We made a backup of our staging site and then performed the conversion. It appeared to go smoothly taking about 10 minutes. We did not encounter any error messages.

Once the conversion was completed we cleared the system caches.

Then we browsed the front end of the staging site. We only found a few discrepancies when comparing the staging site to the production site.

I have placed two URLs in the secure note, Please visit each URL. (Our staging runs slow so please allow it to load.) See the product information below the fold on each page. See the tab named details.

Compare each URL, you’ll notice that the text under details on the staging site runs together with no paragraphs.

I found another example of the text lacking the paragraph styling. What I did was to visit the content in Cornerstone. I didn’t make any changes, rather I just saved the page. This fixed the formatting.

While we could visit every page on our website that uses Cornerstone and resave the page, is there another approach to resolving this issue?

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for reaching out.
I suspect this might be due to the cache, I would suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache including the System Cache from Cornerstone > Settings > System > Clear System Cache and check in the incognito/private mode of the browser.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Hi @tristup -

Thank you for those recommendations. I cleared all caches everywhere including where you indicated as well as through our host.

It did not resolved the issue. I can provide login details in the secure note if you’re willing to take a look.

Let me know.

Thank you
Tim

If you could send me a login and a page affected by this I can take a look. Have a great day.

Hi @charlie - Thanks! See the secure note for the login details.

One related question, our developer asked " It looks like after the content storage conversion, the wpautop function is no longer being applied to tab content. Is there a hook for tab content where we could apply that formatting?"

Tim

I think ideally I’d like for us to handle wpautop for you if that was the default behaviour of how shortcodes worked. But in the meantime while I investigate that, I’ll add a filter for you guys to tap into. I’m calling it cs_document_html_content right now, but be on the lookout for the next release when I add this in. Have a great day.

Thanks @charlie We’ll keep a look out for the next update. Thanks Tim

You are most welcome, Tim.
