Content shifting around after theme update

Hi. Just updated theme from 8.1.5 to 8.3.3, and on one page the content is shifting. Mainly I have a store locator that is inserted by means of shortcode, and this one will now display at the very top, before even the menu is displayed.

Live site (still on 8.1.5 is fine): https://www.hartman.no/forhandlere/
Staging (only difference is X 8.3.3): https://staging-hartman.kinsta.cloud/forhandlere/

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for reaching out.
It seems that the Store Locator code is not wrapped with the X content structure as the live site. Please check once that the code is properly placed with the structure or not. If that is not the case, and the code is placed properly, please provide login credentials for your staging site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve added a secure note with the information. Had some trouble editing the page as well, because I was unable to save any changes (failed to save: invalid json). Hopefully you can help sort out this one too

Hi Andreas,

I tried to replicate your setup on my development area with the latest version of the X theme and cornerstone plugin then I don’t see any issue like yours. I suggest that you deactivate all your plugins except for the cornerstone plugin, WordPress store locator, and Redux plugin. If the issue is resolved then activate the plugin one by one to find the culprit.

On the other hand, if the issue still persists after the first troubleshooting, maybe your X theme is corrupted when you upgrade it to the latest version. I suggest that you reinstall it by deleting the X theme and cornerstone plugin then go to your themeco dashboard and download the latest version. Once you are done downloading the files, upload them to your staging area and install the cornerstone plugin.

Hope that helps and let us know how it goes.

Thank you.

Thanks for all the suggestions, however I’m still not succeeding. Deactivated all plugins did not fix it. Re-installing X + Cornerstone did not help. I have updated X to 8.2.3 and Cornerstone 5.2.3 without issue. I can also update X to 8.3.3 without any issue, but as soon as I bump Cornerstone from 8.2.3 to 8.3.3 the problem occurs. I have also tried starting with a fresh new page, with only the raw content element and the store locator shortcode. No luck. However, if I start a fresh page and instead use the WP block editor, it works fine.

Any other ideas? Thanks

Hi Andreas,

Like my colleague, I have also used the WordPress Store Locator plugin in my local environment and didn’t find the issue you described here. I would suggest troubleshooting the following common issues to recognize the reason behind them.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
We would also like to know if it is working after activating any default theme like TwentyTwenty.
If none of the above helps, please let us know to investigate it further.

Thanks

Thanks for your help on this issue, the thread may be closed. Issue eventually was solved by resetting the settings in “Store locator” and setting it up again. Somehow the settings data was corrupted it seems. Thanks again, and sorry for wasting your time.

Hi Andreas,

Glad that it resolved now.

Thanks
