Content of page appears in cornerstone on sidebar

Hi,
since the last update, the content of the page appears in the sidebar in cornerstone. Everything is being displayed correctly on the page but all elements in cornerstone shift into the sidebar which makes it almost impossible to create new sites. Has someone seen this before?
Thanks
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for reaching out to us. This usually happens when there is an invalid html code with orphaned or a missing closing tag, please check your content and close all the tags properly or if you see an extra closing tag then remove it as it breaks the entire layout of the page.

If you still have problems kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case.

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

I can’t find the issue you are referring to. Can you please provide us a screenshot indicating the issue and providing a page URL is a big help to solve your issue in no time.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

sure, no thing

It appears only in cornerstone, on the front end, everything looks ok.

when I dissable the sidebar for this page, it looks normal (the standard sidebar appears and the content is on the page instead on the sidebar)

Hi Alex,

I have checked your given URL and found the problem you mentioned. I have saved the page as a template and load that it on a page, it works perfectly fine. It might be due to the improper up-gradation of the Cornerstone plugin. A few hours ago we have released another version of the theme with some fixes, I would recommend you to update your theme to the latest one.
I would also suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you troubleshot a few common issues to find the reason behind them.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.CSS/JS Customization
3.Disabling Cache

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above help, please let us know for further investigation.

Thanks

I did as you have recomended. Now it says that there is a critical error on the page, I cannot access the dashboard anymore

Hi Alex,

There might be some other reason behind it, even if you have already done a few steps, I would like to suggest troubleshoot the following common issue again to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue

We would also like to know, how it works after activating any default theme like TwentyTwenty.
If you discover that the issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If that does not help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hi,

thanks. I have no access to my dashboard anymore since I followed your guidance yesterday.

To be quite honest, I have no clue what to do next.

Thanks
Alexander

I was able to delete the cornerstone plugin on the server. I had access to my dashboard again. Then I made an update to the latest X version. When I click on install and activate cornerstone, I get an error message:

This means that I got an critical error and I should check the email I should have received.

It appears that cornerstone causes the trouble.

Hi Alexander,

I tried to check your setup but couldn’t get to the plugins section due to the error. To fix this issue first, delete Cornerstone plugin via FTP and then navigate to WP Admin > Plugins screen and disable all plugins and then install and activate Cornerstone plugin.

Once Cornerstone is successfully active then you can safely activate your other plugins. Let us know how this goes!

Thanks.
It turns out that cornerstone conflicts with a plugin called “sportspress”. This plugin is essential as we are a baseball club and we use it to organize our teams and roster.
Any ideas what we could do to resolve the conflict?

Thanks
Alexander

Hi @oldrunner,

Can you try updating to the latest versions of X and Cornerstone? It happens with any plugin that uses the TGM Activation class. We were able to identify the conflict and pushed a fix for it yesterday.

Thanks. Great, this did the job. It also resolves the issue we initially had (content of the sportspress plugin moved to the sidebar).
You are a star

Glad to hear that, @oldrunner!
