Content not displaying properly in Cornerstone

Hey Guys,

We just had a random thing start happening today where content isn’t displaying properly in Cornerstone previews.

If you look at the Home page, for example, in Cornerstone, you’ll notice that the Revolution Slider won’t load and the Classic Block Grid towards the bottom is just displaying as a long vertical bulleted list.

Looking at the live version of the Home page, you will see everything looking how it’s supposed to look.

If I were to make any changes to the Home page and hit that save button right now in Cornerstone, those display issues would then be made live.

I can’t figure out what would cause this to happen. It wasn’t an issue a few days ago, no changes have been made to the Home page, the theme and all plugins are up to date, etc.

Any ideas?

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in and sorry you’re having this trouble. The issue of the Block Grid not showing properly on the Cornerstone preview is a known bug, this bug does not translate to the front-page so it safe to save your changes.

Regarding the Revolution Slider, it seems to be a plugin conflict. Please do a test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

I’ve deactivated all plugins and it made no difference. This doesn’t seem to be a plugin conflict.

Just a quick update.

The “Replacement Parts” page is also displaying differently in Cornerstone than it does on the front-end. (Just add /replacement-parts/ to the root URL to view the page).

We need to make a quick update to this page but are afraid that saving it in Cornerstone will cause it to look like this on the front-end.

I’m attaching a screen shot of what I’m seeing when in Cornerstone. There is something strange going on with the borders in Cornerstone that isn’t translating to the front-end.

Please note that I removed identifying product information from the screen shot so the product models can’t be seen.

Also, any ideas on the Revolution Slider not showing on the Home page in Cornerstone? It was suggested that the problem was due to plugin conflicts but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Hi There,

Upon checking, I see that the PHP version running on the server could cause issues. Currently it is PHP v5.4.45 and could you please ask from the hosting provider to update it to v5.6.32 or v7.x to avoid the incompatibility issues.
