Content Fails to Save

I have read other posts in this forum and done everything that I know how to. I have limited ability! I’ve cleared cache, and browser cache, and checked php

It is still having the same problem

I am not sure about deactivating plugins ~ surely this will damage my site?

Hello @Elvengrove,

Deactivating plugins will help isolate the source of the issue. If this is a live site and you don’t want any side effect while checking, it would be better to setup a staging site. There you can deactivate plugins. If the issue is gone after this, try activating one by one and check if the issue persists. If plugin is not the source of the issue, please share site URL and credentials inside a secure note so we can check. Thank you.

I just upgraded to Cornerstone 3.5.4 and much of my site has turned to coding. I have X theme 6.5.5 installed. Please could I have urgent help with this, as I jus sent out a newsletter and many people will be visiting my site! With Many Thanks, Elen

ps I’ll send site and wp admin in secure note. I have not been able to get the correct FTP credentials in the past ~ the ones Godaddy give me do not work. I hope you can help using WP admin

The site fixed it itself! It has now both installed and activated the new cornerstone.

It is still not saving.

I shall try working with the plugins, and let you know how that goes.

Hi @Elvengrove,

I got the 500 error when saved the content:

To create a FTP account, please take at this: https://www.godaddy.com/help/add-ftp-users-in-web-and-classic-hosting-1236

If it still doesn’t help, please contact to the Godaddy Support.

Regards!

Are you publishing the post after saving in cornerstone? I had that problem, fixed by remembering to hit the “publish” button or save as draft I guess.

Hello Philip,

Thanks for reaching out.

I tried editing and I am able to save the changes on my end. Same is also getting reflected on front end. I suggest you to clear cache and see how it goes.

Thanks.

Huh? I was replying to the OP, not reaching out. I found that the “save” button in cornerstone was not updating my content, until I left cornerstone and clicked on “publish”. Are you saying that it should be sufficient to only click on “save” in cornerstone and that should publish/update live content, and that by clearing the cache this functionality is made possible?

Hi @Philcat,

By default, you don’t have to hit the publish button to save the changes. Just need to click on the Save button on the bottom left corner.

Can you contact to GoDaddy Support to get the FTP account? I’m still seeing the 500 error while saving the changes in content builder.

Thank you.
