Hi! I’m trying to connect Adsense to my blog. I need to paste the code they gave me into the header of my blog so they can verify my site. I’ve searched the forum and found several threads with codes to paste into my child theme. I’ve tried several codes that I’ve found through your forums, but I always get this error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<’, expecting end of file in /home2/niknaksh/public_html/wp-content/themes/x-child/functions.php on line 25

Thanks for writing in!

It’s a syntax error. Can you please share the code you have used? On the other hand you can take a look at plugins like Header and Footer Scripts to insert scripts in head section.

I actually can’t get you the code, because it messed up my child theme and now I can’t even get into my website. When I pull up my website or try and to login I get this error…

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<’, expecting end of file in /home2/niknaksh/public_html/wp-content/themes/x-child/functions.php on line 25”

Is there a way that we can just delete the code I used and get the child theme back to what it used to be?

Hello There,

Since it’s a syntax error we can’t login to the backend of website. Please get in touch with your hosting provider and ask for FTP login credentials and then share the same with us in a secure note.
