Confusion - Snippet Extension and Yoast SEO

Hi,

I have read the other support posts about Snippet and Yoast, but have a specific question about an area which does not seem to be handled in the KB.

The top-level Snippet settings are all self-explanatory. However, on each Page and Post there is a Snippet section which can be filled out (Open a page in WordPress, but do not go into Pro editor).

My question is - do the Headline, Alternative Headline and Description fields correspond to the Meta Title and Meta Description fields of Yoast? In other words, is there a possible conflict where either Snippet or Yoast will override the other with the Meta Title or Meta Description used by Google?

Thanks for reaching out.

That snippet isn’t related to SEO Yoast and it’s not used for filling SEO Yoast information. It’s a standalone plugin that implements Schema which yes, probably or could be the same as other plugins like SEO Yoast.

If you’re on Yoast then I recommend utilizing its feature and fill up the SEO data.
