Conflict with Waiting plugin

Hi guys

Seems like I have some conflict between my Waiting WP plugin and X Theme. Waiting is meant to show a countdown timer on several pages, but it’s not showing up. The plugin makers pointed to the browser console where there look to be some theme errors. Any ideas on what I could do? I’m on X 6.1.6 and WP 4.9.6.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Thanks for writing in.

Please also double check if you have Cornerstone updated to the latest version. If you haven’t yet, kindly update it first then clear your site’s cache if you have any caching plugin installed.

If you have done the steps above but you are still having an issue, please provide us with the admin and FTP details so that we can check your site. However, since this is a possible conflict with a third party plugin, we cannot promise to have the issue sorted but we can always have a look.

Thank you.

Thanks Jade. Yes running Cornerstone 3.1.6 and issue still present. Only plugin that isn’t updated on site is WP Bakery (purchased when it was Visual Composer with X Theme). It tells me I have to wait til the theme author pushes an update. Will add admin details via note.

Hey Chris,

Regarding the countdown timer you’re referring to, is it a VC element? Where in the page did you add it? Please provide specific URLs and screenshots.

Thanks.

Thanks Christian. Plugin is third party one, not a built in VC element. Counter is on this page. Screenshots below show where the counter should be appearing.

Hi @ChrisMcK3nzie,

It sounds like you are having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks I understand you can’t get involved in theme/plugin conflicts. However could I refer you back to the top of the thread and the uncaught type error relating to ‘x.js?ver=6.1.6:1’ showing up in the browser console. The plugin maker suggested that may be the issue, and I’m not sure, but could you advise if that’s something you could fix?

Hi Chris,

Actually, the code might cause the issue. You can test that.

Try to remove the code and check the browser console and see the case. If there is no error then it shows that the code is causing that error.

By the way, you gave us the credentials to a site and gave the link to complete another site that the problem is there.

Please add a secure note and on that note give us the link of a test page that you will create, and will use the Content Area element to add the code of the plugin there. And then get back to us with the login information, so that we can check and see if we can give you pointers that you can communicate with the plugin developer.

Meanwhile, I see that you are using version 6.1.6 of the theme with an old version of the Cornerstone. Please backup your website completely and update the Cornerstone to version 3.1.6.

Thank you.

@christopher.amirian thanks - updating to latest Cornerstone fixed the issue. For some reason there were no updates showing for Cornerstone in my plugin list or updates so thought I had the latest version.

Perfect! Glad that you have managed to fix the issue
