Conflict with Pro X Child Theme and Essential Grid

Hi,

I’ve been talking with the ThemePunch devs over the past week, trying to resolve an issue with a pop-up video not being displayed on the mobile version of my site.

They have tracked it down to a conflict between the Pro X child theme I am running, and asked me to notify you to try and get it resolved. With the theme disabled, the pop-up works as expected.

Please let me know what info is needed to help with debugging this, and how I should submit it to the ThemeCo devs directly.

Cheers,
Dave

Hello Dave,

Thanks for posting in! Usually the child theme do not create any conflict by default. As soon as you add custom files and functions in the child theme, that’s where issues comes in. Did you added any custom files, features or functionalities in your child theme? To better assist you with your issue, kindly provide us access to your site so that we can check your settings. Please create a secure note with the following info:

Best Regards.

Hi,

I’ve added the information to a Secure Note above.

The devs at ThemePunch were able to test this by switching the theme from my current X-Child theme to Twenty Twenty. I did have issues with the site being corrupted after I tried to test it my self, and had to restore from a backup.

Cheers,
Dave

Hey Dave,

I checked your child theme and you don’t have custom functions so it’s highly likely a conflict with the parent Pro theme. In this case, we would need to see the error in the console so please give us the URL of the page having this issue and what specific grid item do we have to click.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

Here is the page with the issue: https://pixellighter.com/services/simulations-2/

If you click the “Play Video” button, the video pop-up as an overlay on the current page. The problem is that on mobile, this functioning doesn’t work. And lead the ThemePunch dev to discover that it was an issue with the theme.

I didn’t originally setup the child or parent theme, so I am not sure how much, if any, customizations were done to the child.

Hey @Howe,

I switched the theme to Twenty Twenty and still the issue persisted. Still no video on mobile even using the default theme.

I’m sorry if this sounds like being pushed around but that is the result of my theme switch test. This is an issue with the Essential Grid itself. Please kindly report this back to ThemePunch.

By the way, I don’t see any errors in the console so this might be a PHP bug in the Essential Grid. In this case, ThemePunch should investigate.

Thanks.

Ok, I’ll bounce it back to ThemePunch and see what they say.

Best of luck, @Howe, we hope you get it sorted.
