Conflict between X-Theme and Contact Form 7 - Submit spinner is missing

Hello,

Usually, Contact Form 7 shows a spinner when you submit a form. However, the X-Theme seems to disable the spinner. The result is a long delay until the success message appears with no feedback. During this delay, the submitter thinks the click didn’t work, and often clicks submit a few more times. Each click sends another copy of the message to the site owner. This is not a good user experience.

I understand that X-Theme decided to disable the spinner for performance reasons, after reading the following thread. But that was years ago and since then CF7 replaced the image spinner with a CSS-only spinner, but still, it is missing on sites using the X-Theme:

It seems that you are having ongoing issues with the Contact Form 7 which has been already resolved in the upcoming release. I would also suggest you go through the following thread with probable solutions.

Hi @kstidham, You have this custom CSS that is hiding the form’s response output. .wpcf7-response-output { display: none; } I can not pinpoint where is this coming from because the CSS on your site is minified. Please check your Theme Options > CSS and Page > CSS, if it’s not there, please check the other possible custom CSS area that the site might have. Let us know how it goes, Cheers!

WPCF7 Spinner

In October 2021, I posted a thread that has since been closed in hopes of a future resolution. Strangely, I now have CF7 forms where the spinner works and CF7 forms where it doesn’t appear despite being in the code. The only difference I’ve been able to pinpoint is that the forms with working spinners have a ::before selector in the code, whereas the ones that aren’t functioning properly don’t have that.
