Components Import / Export Doesn't Work

Hello,

I’m using Pro 6.0.5 (6.0.3 had same issue). WP is 6.1.1, tested with PHP is 8.0 & 8.1.

I save the component page (tried on many different component pages) as a template Templates > Save Template button (at the bottom of the screen). Then I export .tco file using the Manage Library button > 3 dots > Download. And on another site I import this .tco (same method). I see success message and the imported page in the Manage Library as well. But when I try to paste component page anywhere I only see a green progress bar and then nothing gets pasted. I don’t see related components in component picker or imported page in left menu as well.

I’m not sure is this an export or import problem because there’s no errors or anything. TCO file (I guess it’s just renamed ZIP archive) contains something related to component (manifest + doc-LONGIDSTRING.json) filled with content which resembles actual component’s content. Can’t check if it’s 100% valid tho => I don’t have your specs obviously. I can give you TCO file but not publicly.

Then I though maybe it’s something to do with installation. I created staging website with only Pro theme installed. Same thing. Can’t import.

Is this a known issue? If not can we help each other and fix this?
This question is most likely for developers, but I’m not posting it in beta since it’s prod version I’m using.

Hi @skripkin,

Thanks for reaching out.
It will be difficult to recognize the issue without investigating through the admin dashboard. Can you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Hello,

Obviously I can’t give you access to production servers, especially an administrative one.

However, I can assure you that the import/export problem is repeated on two clean installations of WP and theme version 6.0.5. This bug does not depend in any way on the settings and environment of my production servers.

This is very easy to check. Create two sites and try to do exactly what I described in the beginning.
I can also share with you access to my test setup.

Hello,

I am able to recreate the issue where it does not place the components from the components section area. They are placed in Templates “Components” area properly, just not inserted properly. Just to double check, doing an Element Template (From the element manager) relies on the component so importing element templates that use a component will need the component to be imported first.

Yes TCO files are just zip files.

We’ll get that issue handled. Thanks for your patience, have a great day.
