Component shortcode not rendering

I have created a component, which i will have to embed somewhere else as a shortcode. However, the component only renders as a cornerstone element. Inserting it as a shortcode does not work?

To clarify: If i embed it like this it works:

But if i embed it like this, it does not.

For my specific use case, i have to make the latter work.
