I’m having the same issue as what’s being described here - Headers suddenly stopped showing. Has there been a work around discovered as it appears to still be an issue. I need the language functionality provided in the header and footer for the site I’m working on.

There could be a plugin or custom code that affects your website.
I recommend the following troubleshooting procedures before we investigate the settings.
- TESTING FOR THEME RELATED ISSUE
- TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT
- THEME UPDATE
- CHILD THEME
- CSS/JS CUSTOMIZATION
- VERSION COMPATIBILITY
- DISABLE CACHE
