Comments not working

Comments section not displaying properly in our website sysomos.com . For example comment section is hidden in https://sysomos.com/2017/06/21/introducing-sysomos-display/ . But if we add comments through WordPress back-end comment section will be displayed as in https://sysomos.com/2017/05/25/social-analysis-fidget-spinners/ .

Note: We have already ticked ‘allow comments’ in back end. Please advise.

But the general problem is that we show that comments are enabled and the site uses Disqus as you can see here by clicking on the “Plugin Settings” link: https://sysomos.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?page=disqus

However, comments are not being displayed on the site nor can they be enabled/disabled on a per post basis, need to figure out why they’re not appearing and why options for allowing/disallowing on each post aren’t available

The WP login credentials are:

However, please note that we use GIT version control through Pantheon so we don’t utilize FTP.

Allow comment was not enabled for the following post “https://sysomos.com/2017/06/21/introducing-sysomos-display”.I have enabled comment for this post. Browse to Posts >> All Posts and click quick edit and enable allow comments. Now I can see comment section.

I have enabled “Allow people to post comments on new articles” from Settings >> Discussion Settings in WP admin panel.

There still seems to be an issue of the comments not showing.

There are 3 approved comments I can see in the backend but only the comment section shows on the live post, the acutal comments do not.

It looks like something is preventing comments to show up. Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Also make sure your Theme and Plugins are all up to date.

We have tested the conflict by disabling each plugin one by one. But nothing help us to resolve the issue.
Now we have disabled Disqus and switched back to the built-in comment system with WordPress. But it still not correct. It shows ‘comments closed’ message and comments form is hidden there . Please take a look at https://dev-sysomos-v2.pantheonsite.io/2016/03/29/future-social-media-looking-bright/ and help us to fix the issue.

There were some setting issues in Dashboard > Settings > Discussion > Other comment settings, I went ahead and fixed them for you. I also added a test comment, approved it and it is now displaying just fine. Now Disqus should work fine too, you can enable it now.
