After updating plugins, all my blog comments have disappeared. I hired someone to update the plugins and he said this is a theme issue, nothing to do with the plugins because if you turn all plugins off the comments are still missing. If you turn on another theme the comments show. He said I need to contact the theme developer for help. Please help. My blog was working fine for years and years so yes, comments are enabled.

Thanks for writing in! The comments section no longer display because of this setting in Settings > Discussions > Other comment settings:
Posts that are older than 28 days will no longer display the comments section. To display the comment section, you will have to disable this setting which I already did.
