Code in Tag Excerpts

On our tag page (see link example), where the page does not include text, only images it pulls a Survey Monkey embed code into the excerpt.

Is there any way to either limit excepts to the title or first 3 or 4 lines or strip HTML code altogether?

Thanks for reaching out.
The blog list page displays excerpts on each of the posts shows. And WordPress generates plain text when displaying the excerpt, it will remove all shortcodes and HTML. But some could bypass if it contains malformed content, or other 3rd party plugins is appending some content. In WordPress posts, excerpts will come from excerpt options available in Post Settings.
